  • Abundance seedlings – Abundance is a shagbark cultivar introduced by Fayette Etter, Franklin County PA. Etter thought the nut to be a shagbark x shellbark hybrid, but recent genotyping suggest shagbark x bitternut instead.

  • Conowingo seedlings – from an outstanding wild tree in Lancaster county, PA. Recent genotyping reveals this is a 50:50 shagbark x shellbark hybrid. 40% kernel at 4.0 grams per.

  • Doghouse seedlings — shagbark x shellbark hybrid from Bedford county, PA, introduced by Richard Dravis. Nut appears as a large shagbark with excellent traits.

  • Grainger seedlings – these are proven winners, in that many of these seedlings may make trees as good or better than the original Grainger parent cultivar.

  • Lorane seedlings – thought to be a seedling of Grainger, this tree’s true origins remain shrouded in mystery. Nevertheless, it’s one of the best shagbarks out there, and extremely similar to Grainger in its characteristics.

  • Wilmoth seedlings — variety from Kentucky introduced by Les Wilmoth, charter member of KYNGA.
